Sigma DP1
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: Digital Cameras
- Category: Digital Cameras
Sigma announces the launch of the Sigma DP1 using three silicon embedded layers of photo sensors stacked to take advantage of silicon’s ability to absorb red, green and blue light at different respective depths. The size of image sensor used in DP1 camera is approximately 10 times larger than those used in an ordinary point and shoot camera. Large size image sensor takes advantage of larger pixels. So far point and shoot digital cameras incorporated small size image sensors, and researches for increasing the number of pixels by keeping the image sensor small is still continuing. However, there are limitations in these researches, because keeping image sensor size small will result poor capture of the light poorly.
Sigma 18-200mm lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Zoom Lenses
The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens. This 11.1 times high magnification zoom ratio lens is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras and is capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto. It is equipped with Sigma’s own unique OS (Optical Stabilizer) technology. This technology uses two sensors inside the lens to detect vertical and horizontal movement of the camera and works by moving an optical image stabilizing lens group, to effectively compensate camera shake. It also automatically detects movement of the camera and compensates camera shake when shooting moving subjects such as motor sports.
Sigma APO 200-500mm lens
- Brand: Sigma
- Subject: SLR Lenses
- Category: Zoom Lenses
The Sigma APO 200-500mm F2.8 EX DG is the world’s first Ultra-Telephoto Zoom Lens that offers a fast aperture of F2.8 at 500mm focal length. It covers the widely used 200 to 500mm focal length range, and maintains its fast F2.8 aperture over the entire zoom range. Four SLD glass elements provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations and produce a high level of optical performance throughout the entire zoom range. Shooting distance and focal length can be viewed on the lens’ LCD panel, which is an additional convenience for the photographer. A filter can be inserted towards the rear of the lens, and a circular polarizing filter can be used with its ingenious rotation mechanism.
