PMA 2010 - Samsung adds a new 12 megapixel camera to its extensive digital camera line-up for 2010 - the waterproof Samsung WP10 (also known as Samsung AQ100 in the United States). Thanks to its elements-focused design, the Samsung WP10 underwater camera grants peace of mind and allows users to focus on taking the perfect shot, rather than worrying about damage to the camera from water. A powerful camera on land or in water, the Samsung WP10 boasts an ample, 5x optical inner-zoom lens complete with Digital Image Stabilisation to help reduce blurry images. The Samsung WP10 digital camera also features a bright, 2.7 inch TFT-LCD screen for framing and reviewing images.

PMA Show - Samsung proudly introduces the 10 megapixel EX1 (also known as Samsung TL500 in the United States), a high-end compact digital camera designed specifically for today’s advanced and enthusiast photographers. The new flagship of the company’s compact digital camera family, the Samsung EX1 incorporates a range of advanced features, including a high-performance imaging sensor and one of the most impressive lenses ever found on a compact camera - a 24mm ultra-wide angle Schneider Kreuznach, f/1.8. The high-end Schneider lens offers a 24mm, ultra-wide focal length and 3x optical zoom. Much wider than traditional compact cameras, the 24mm lens allows photographers to capture more of a desired scene, such as beautiful landscapes and large groups of friends or family.

PMA Show news - Samsung unveils the WB2000 (also known as Samsung TL350 in the United States) - a high-speed, 10 mega-pixel CMOS sensor compact camera with 1080P, full-HD video recording. With a maximum video recording speed of 1,000 frames-per-second (fps) and a burst mode capable of capturing 10 full-size digital stills per second, the Samsung WB2000 takes high-speed imaging to a new level for today’s consumer. Additionally, the Samsung WB2000 enhances the digital imaging experience with Samsung’s Advanced Panorama Shot with Object Tracking as well as an innovative Dual Capture mode, which allows users to simultaneously take 10 mega-pixel still images while recording full-HD videos.

Samsung HZ35W

Samsung announces the addition of its Samsung HZ35W high zoom, point-and-shoot digital camera. The 12-megapixel HZ35W offers the same wide-angle 24mm Schneider lens as its predecessor, the HZ15W, but extends the telephoto capability of the range from a 10x optical zoom to an impressive 15x optical zoom. In addition, the Samsung HZ35W comes equipped with a super clear and sharp 3.0” AMOLED display and built-in GPS technology for the automatic geo-tagging of images from anywhere in the world. The cameras’ high-performance Schneider Kreuznach lens is also paired with Dual Image Stabilization (IS), which allows users to capture crystal-clear images using both Optical and Digital Image stabilizers.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2010 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the 2010 PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
