Samsung’s new HZ10W is a compact, 10.2 mega pixel digital camera that takes wide-angle to a new level. Featuring an ultra-wide angle 24mm Schneider lens, the Samsung HZ10W goes beyond the 28mm wide angle focal length offered by other manufacturers while adding a powerful 10x optical zoom with telephoto capabilities of 240mm (35mm film equivalent). Samsung announces a new point-and-shoot digital camera, the PL65 - also known as Samsung SL620 in the USA. Stylish and advanced, the 12.2 megapixel Samsung PL65 allows consumers to experience higher-end features and performance at more affordable prices. Samsung’s new PL65 features a standard 35mm lens. The PL65 offers users a powerful 5x optical zoom paired with Optical and Digital Image Stabilization. The new SL420 digital camera features a resolution of 10.2 megapixels, offers Face Detection and is offered by rechargeable Li-Ion batteries.

The PMA, or Photo Marketing Association, continues a long tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2010 focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention and Trade Show in the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, USA.
