Pentax Optio W30

Pentax Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new Pentax Optio W30, a compact digital camera designed to be dustproof/waterproof. The waterproof function has been further enhanced so that it is possible to photograph underwater at depths of 3 meters continuously for 2 hours. The waterproofing capabilities of the internal construction of the camera and of the front and back covers, made from the metal used for the exterior, were further improved to make the Pentax Optio W30 capable of being used to photograph underwater at depths of 3 meters continuously for 2 hours in the conventional model, underwater photography was possible at depths of only 1.5 meters for a period of 30 minutes).

Pentax announces the launch of the Pentax Optio A30, a compact digital camera featuring 10.0 effective megapixels, enabling for photography of fine, high-quality images. The Pentax Optio A30, which is a camera in Pentax’s top class, also has enhanced anti-shake functions. The Optio A30 achieves one of the highest image qualities as a compact digital camera, thanks to features such as 10.0 effective megapixels that enable for high-resolution images, a 1/1.8-inch CCD with a wide light-sensitive area for superior tone reproduction, an smc Pentax zoom lens, renowned for its high resolving power, an image processing engine that makes a rich color reproduction possible, and three different types of anti-shake functions.

smc Pentax-DA zoom lenses

Pentax announces the marketing of smc Pentax-DA* 16-50mm F2.8ED AL [IF] SDM and smc Pentax-DA* 50-135mm F2.8ED [IF] SDM. Designed exclusively for use with its digital SLR cameras, these zoom lenses are the first models of the new high-performance smc Pentax-DA* lens series. The smc Pentax-DA* series has been developed through Pentax’s unending pursuit of the ultimate image quality in digital photography. Pentax digital SLR camera products

Pentax Corporation is pleased to announce the exhibition of its soon-to-be-released digital SLR camera products, all currently under development, at two major trade shows in the U.S.A. and Japan. PMA 2007 is America’s largest annual photographic merchandise trade show, to be held from March 8 to 10, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada; the Photo Imaging Expo 2007 is one of Asia’s largest annual photo and imaging merchandise trade fairs, and will be held from March 22 to 25 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. The digital SLR camera products include several interchangeable lenses, a macro lens, a medium format camera and a dedicated auto flash unit.

The digital SLR camera market is booming. Compared to last year the DSLR camera sales increased with impressive numbers and it seems the digital SLR camera has become a mass consumer product. New entry level D-SLR cameras with 6 Megapixels surprisingly were welcomed very well by the amateur photographer and it seems that within this segment of the digital camera market the resolution range of 6 - 10 Megapixel fulfils the need of the amateur photographer.
