Panasonic is pleased to introduce a new Lumix digital camera, the 8.1-megapixel DMC-TZ4, featuring a 28mm wide-angle 10x optical zoom Leica DC lens. The 28mm wide angle lens captures the subject and the scene wider at the same standpoint than normal 35mm camera does and you can zoom in or out to magnify a distant subject when desired with the 10x powerful optical zoom. The Lumix DMC-TZ4 is the latest member of the Lumix TZ family, boasting an Intelligent LCD function, which detects the lighting condition and controls the brightness level of the LCD in 11 fine steps, to offer a display with most appropriate clarity in any situation with a newly developed 230,000-dot resolution in 2.5-inch.

Nikon Coolpix P60 digital camera

Nikon Europe announced the new Nikon Coolpix P60, a compact digital still camera that features 8.1 megapixel resolution, a 5x optical Nikkor zoom lens and a large 2.5-inch LCD screen in a traditionally-styled, yet compact and lightweight camera body. The Nikon P60 offers Nikon’s VR vibration reduction technology, a wide range of image enhancement features and a handy mode dial that puts the user in control. The Nikon Coolpix P60 has the pleasing look and feel of a traditional photo camera. Designed to work with standard AA batteries, the Nikon Coolpix P60 will appeal to camera lovers with its comfortable handgrip and classic black colour.

Nikon Coolpix S600 digital camera

Nikon Europe announced the stylish new Coolpix S600 compact digital still camera. The new Nikon S600 is functional and stylish, and includes Nikon’s VR image stabilization to help users achieve great pictures. Among the most compact in their class, the new Nikon Coolpix S600 camera boasts fast start-up times and great new picture-taking features. To ensure a perfect smile when capturing a special moment the Smile detection function takes pictures automatically, based on the expression of the chosen subject. Another feature is the Active Child mode, which sets up the camera to take shots of fast-moving, active young children. Available in Titan Silver or Urban Black, the Nikon Coolpix S600 is priced at €299.

The Nikon L18 delivers great close-ups, finds faces and fixes red eyes automatically to help everyone create beautiful images. The Nikon Coolpix L18 offers 8 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical Nikkor zoom lens, and a big, easy to view 3.0-inch, high quality 230,000-dot LCD screen. The Nikon L18 includes a 5.7-17.1mm lens equivalent to 35-105mm in 35mm format, with an aperture range of f/2.8-f/4.7. The camera can focus from 50cm (1 ft. 7.7 in.) to infinity. Estimated street price for the Nikon Coolpix L18 is €139.

The Nikon Coolpix L16 offers 7.1 effective megapixel resolution and a 2.8-inch wide-angle LCD screen. It has a 5.7-17.1mm lens with a 3x optical zoom, with an aperture range of f/2.8-f/4.7. The Nikon L16 is available in silver or matt black and has an internal memory of 16MB and a slot for a SDHC memory card. The Nikon Coolpix L16 runs on widely-available AA batteries.

PMA 2009 - The digital SLR camera market is booming. Compared to last year the DSLR camera sales increased with impressive numbers and it seems the digital SLR camera has become a mass consumer product. New entry level D-SLR cameras with 6 Megapixels surprisingly were welcomed very well by the amateur photographer and it seems that within this segment of the digital camera market the resolution range of 6 - 10 Megapixel fulfils the need of the amateur photographer.
