PMA 2018 Report
Just before the start of the MWC in Barcelona, we’ve received info about some new phones, however, there always seems to be some smartphones slipping through the mazes, which have not yet formally made their appearance in the press. Take the Samsung Galaxy 2 for example, which is apparently the successor to Samsung's first Android smartphone, and this time it has improved specifications. The first information that has reached us about the Samsung Galaxy 2 creates high expectations of a fairly advanced Android smartphone. This Samsung Android phone features a fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor and is said to feature up to 32GB internal memory for the Apps, photo, video and all sorts of data.
Our colleagues over at LetsGoMobile have reviewed the 5 Megapixel Samsung G600 camera phone. According to LetsGoMobile: “Samsung have been active on the mobile phone market for quite some years now and already have several successes on their name. Nowadays, the mobiles get more and more extensive. In the beginning of this year the Nokia N95 was introduced; a mobile phone with a 5 Megapixel camera. Sony Ericsson followed with the K850i and now Samsung too with the G600. The Samsung G600 is a so-called slider mobile with extensive features, including a 5 Megapixel digital camera.” To make use the 5 Megapixel autofocus digital camera you need to open the G600 mobile phone.
The BlackBerry Torch sales packaging is small, and as always for BlackBerry, it is matte black. As soon as we open the packaging, the BlackBerry Torch Smartphone is found in a special cut-away. The new BlackBerry Smartphone has a very sleek design. We find about four buttons and an optical joystick underneath the touchscreen. When we slide the phone open, we also see a QWERTY-keyboard next to the touchscreen. This keyboard is comparable to that of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and it is a bit sunken down. The back of the BlackBerry Smartphone is completely black with a logo, and on top, the lens with flash is found. The sales packaging also contains a data cable, a headset, a charger, a small CD with software and the instruction booklets.
HTC Desire HD Smartphone review - The HTC Desire HD Smartphone comes in a slim packaging with a large image of the phone itself on the front. As soon as we open the packaging, the HTC Desire HD can be picked up immediately. The HTC Desire HD Smartphone looks impressive, it is big but it also has a very sleek design. The front of the phone has a large touchscreen of 4.3 inches, with a few touch keys underneath it. The back of the HTC Desire HD Smartphone is made out of one piece, just like the HTC Legend, although it does have a couple of flaps and a cut-away near the flash made of a different material which makes the HTC mobile phone look a bit rough.

There must be someone in that marketing department that had a side job next to their study that was solely comprised of inventing silly names? Well, that person is working for several different cell phone manufacturers or there are several people that meet that profile. Take for example the following rumor: the existence of the HTC Supersonic smartphone. Supersonic? I thought that that name had disappeared with the disappearance of the Concord flights! The HTC Supersonic is supposed to be the full successor of the HTC HD2 smartphone. Why not just call that smartphone the HTC HD3? We aren’t too sure yet if it will be called HTC Supersonic of HTC HD3.
