Users can finally feel free to leave their laptop behind when going to deliver a presentation. Research In Motion introduces BlackBerry Presenter, the latest accessory for BlackBerry smartphones. BlackBerry Presenter is a conveniently small and light device that easily plugs into a projector or monitor, then lets the user display a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation wirelessly from their BlackBerry smartphone. “Mobile professionals are always looking to carry less when travelling,” said Glenn Laxdal, Vice President, Product Management, RIM. “BlackBerry Presenter equips mobile professionals with a simple, secure and convenient way to deliver presentations directly from their BlackBerry smartphone, giving them the freedom to leave their laptops behind.”

HTC Smart

Garmin Oregon GPS

Sanyo sound recorders

Sanyo announces the release of the world’s slimmest and lightest sound recorder, the Xacti sound recorder ICR-XPS01M, and a bundled speaker cradle version, the ICR-XPS01MF. These new sound recorders feature Linear PCM recording in addition to various MP3 modes. Linear PCM is a high quality sound recording mode that is equivalent to an audio CD, which can be recorded onto a microSD card and easily transferred and played back on a computer or shared online. The sound recorders will be available in March 2010.

HTC Magic Android smartphone

Vodafone and HTC Corporation announced the HTC Magic smartphone, Vodafone’s first Android-powered mobile, which will be available in the spring. The stylish new handset is exclusive to Vodafone in the UK, Spain, Germany and France (SFR) and available on a non-exclusive basis in Italy. Customers can ensure that they are the first to receive information about the HTC Magic’s availability, pricing and pre-ordering by registering their interest via their local Vodafone website. The introduction of the HTC Magic is the result of a successful relationship between Vodafone and HTC, and Vodafone’s joining, late last year, of the Open Handset Alliance.

Nokia N86 8MP

Samsung Omnia HD

Both the traditional photographer and the camera trade, have always turned up their nose at the camera-phone. The PMA 2010 emphasizes mainly the traditional photography, albeit in a digital way. In terms of image quality, the photographer is right, while the camera cell phone is nowhere near able to come up with the same high quality that puts digital photography ahead of mobile imaging. However, when we consider the possibility of sharing, and the fact that a mobile phone is always at hand, we should not underestimate the impact of mobile imaging. Mobile photography is continuously subject to innovation, and the speed at which these technological advances take place, is at least impressive. Perhaps the PMA 2010 will adopt mobile imaging as a permanent phenomenon?
