PMA 2010 Report
Naturally HP was also present at the PMA and in their huge booth, packed with new printing solutions, HP gave us an impression of their new assortment for the upcoming season. Many printing stations were being demonstrated, from compact printing kiosks that don't take up much room on a counter for example, to large printing kiosks for consumer self-service for ordering and printing digital images in no-time. During my visit at HP something weird had happened; after visiting the booth and chitchatting with my contacts I started photographing the booth and the displayed products. Something we are used to do for many years now and had been looked upon as the most common thing on earth, until recently.
HP announced the industry’s first highly integrated system that delivers the greatest level of digital color consistency across a series of devices. A company-wide initiative, HP DreamColor Technologies builds on HP’s more than 20 years of experience in color imaging to provide customers the assurance of producing accurate, predictable and consistent color from device to device. The system, announced at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show, will first be made available to the graphic-intensive creative community and professional photography market through select HP printers. Over time, it will be implemented across a broader range of markets and HP product categories.
HP made announcements designed to make its digital photography offering the most complete and highly connected experience for consumers, professional photographers and graphic artists. Foremost among the announcements, the company introduced HP DreamColor Technologies, the industry’s first highly integrated system that delivers the highest level of digital color consistency across a series of devices. HP DreamColor will make it easy for graphic artists and professional and advanced amateur photographers to accurately match color to prints or digital sources and automatically deliver predictable color in a wide variety of applications, from photos to marketing collateral to posters.
