As always, Fujifilm had a grand presentation at the PMA with emphasis on printing and other services within the field of photography. Various photo kiosks and minilabs were showcased, and we also came across Fujifilm's 3D concept again. The Fujifilm S5 Pro, which is still very much appreciated by a large group of faithful fans, has disappeared. The fact that Fujifilm is no longer flirting with a digital SLR will not have surprised the attentive reader. The developments did not keep pace with the competition, and depending on third parties, for example for the housing, does not seem ideal. Yet, I can still imagine that Fujifilm will make themselves heard again, perhaps at Photokina 2010.
Fujifilm took a prototype of a 3D camera along to the PMA show 2009 in Las Vegas. In addition to a pair of concept 3D cameras we saw before at the Photokina 2008, a plastic bold; unfortunately with annoying reflection, held a new prototype 3D camera. Perhaps already a functioning model, since the LEDs of the camera were shown activated. The Fujifilm Real 3D imaging concept is a full system of a digital camera, printer and display, and is a very interesting branch of photography. However, even now, I can't imagine it becoming a product for the masses, but it certainly seems to become a nice accessory.
Fujifilm and Nintendo are pleased to announce at the PMA 2009 Show in Las Vegas (United States) the launch of the Digital Photo Print Channel for Nintendo Wii game console, an internet-based printing service for digital photo prints, photobooks and other funny items, using Nintendo’s Wii. Fujifilm currently offers a high quality printing service which produces digital photo prints, and photobooks which assembles several photos into an album. Fujifilm also offers online printing services that allows customers to easily place digital photo prints orders. This service was presented at the Fujifilm booth during the 2009 PMA Show.
During the worldwide introduction of the new Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR, we were already able to provide a preview. During the PMA in Las Vegas, I took a production model of the Fujifilm F200EXR along to get started for the upcoming review. The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is the first camera to feature the new Super CCD EXR image sensor. This sensor was officially introduced at the Photokina 2008 and is a technical innovation of which Fujifilm has very high expectations indeed. The history of Fujifilm sensors shows that a lot of effort is generally put into research, in order to improve pixel quality without prioritizing on pixel amounts. As far as we're concerned, this is an excellent choice.
First announced at Photokina 2008, Fujifilm’s new EXR technology makes its first appearance in the new Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR digital camera. Following a long line of famous Super CCD sensors in cameras like the FinePix F10 and FinePix F31fd, the FinePix F200EXR is designed by Fujifilm to be the perfect camera for the photographic enthusiast. Primed to be the class-leading compact of 2009, the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR utilises brand new, ground-breaking technology to create an unprecedented level of image quality from a consumer level compact.
