DxO Labs showcases DxO Optics Pro version 5, the latest version of its software application for automatic image quality enhancement for Digital SLR camera users. DxO Optics Pro v5 sets a new standard for image quality with its new RAW conversion engine. All purchasers of DxO Optics Pro v4.5 on or after August 1, 2007 are eligible for a free upgrade to DxO Optics Pro v5. DxO Optics Pro v5’s RAW conversion engine includes a completely new demosaicing algorithm which produces images with much more detail and fewer artifacts, setting a new standard in image quality. Demosaicing is the crucial step of RAW conversion during which the camera’s image sensor pattern is reconstructed as a visible image for the human eye.
DxO Labs announces the availability of DxO Optics Pro 4.2 - for both Windows and Macintosh computer systems. Enriched with exclusive features and supporting VISTA - Microsoft’s latest operating system, DxO Optics Pro v4.2 software demonstrates DxO’s continued commitment to providing photographers worldwide with an unrivalled set of digital imaging software tools. A new intelligent color feature makes its debut in version 4.2 - SmartVibrancy - which selectively intensifies the colors in an image to make it more appealing while avoiding undesirable side effects. Digital photographers will often modify color saturation or the tone-curve of an image to achieve more pleasing results.
DxO Labs announces the availability for Windows and Macintosh of DxO FilmPack v1.1. Based on detailed calibration of the originals, DxO FilmPack enables digital photographers to add the effect - in terms of color and grain - of more than 20 slide, black-and-white and color negative films. DxO FilmPack even permits users to combine the color rendition and grain profiles of different films. This latest version also adds a range of “toning” renditions bringing DxO FilmPack ever closer to a traditional darkroom experience. Version 1.1 of DxO FilmPack now provides its functionality as an Adobe Photoshop plug-in a stand-alone application and an add-on to DxO Optics Pro 4.2 or greater.
DxO Labs announces a licensing agreement and a strategic cooperation with STMicroelectronics to develop and bring to market breakthrough imaging sensors and camera modules featuring DxO Digital Optics, a revolutionary embedded imaging technology. A generation of STMicroelectronics imaging modules will feature full auto-focus functionality without any motor or moving parts, enabling DxO Digital Optics fixed lens optics to deliver sharp images from a very short distance to infinity. The resulting products will initially target the high-end mobile imaging market DxO Digital Optics DAF EDoF Priority is just one of the implementations enabled by DxO Digital Optics technology.
