Samsung SH100

Samsung’s pioneering steps within the connected camera market can be seen in the Samsung SH100’s unique innovation, which allows you to connect wirelessly to your other devices. You can use Wi-Fi to connect to your Android powered Galaxy S smartphone. You can view the shot you’re about to take in real time on your phone. If you’re not happy with it, you can zoom in and out to get the best picture, and then activate the shutter remotely when you’re ready to pose. This innovation means that the days of running between your camera and your subject, trying to line up the perfect group shot, are over.

Report PMA 2010 - Samsung announced the launch of the new Samsung WB700, the ultra-slim digital camera with an impressive 24X zoom function, capable of delivering superb quality pictures whether your subject is near or far. The new Samsung digital camera features a 24mm ultra-wide Schneider KREUZNACH lens to capture the perfect wide shot, as well as an outstanding 24X zoom function, made up of an 18X optical zoom and 1.3X Smart Zoom. Samsung NX11

Report PMA 2010 - Samsung announced the launch of the Samsung NX11 - the latest addition to the highly successful NX family of digital cameras. The new Samsung NX11 digital camera contains a feature set similar to Samsung’s first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, the NX10, however the Samsung NX11 is also compatible with the new i-Function lens that was introduced for the Samsung NX100. The Samsung NX11 camera will come complete with an 18-55mm i-Function lens, as well as two new i-Function lenses, a 20mm pancake and a 20-50mm zoom silver color lens. The launch of this new Samsung camera reinforces the company’s commitment to leading innovation in the compact system camera market.

Sony Alpha concept

PMA Show 2010 - Sony is exhibiting an array of innovative digital imaging products at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) 2010 International Convention, including a concept model of the new compact α (Alpha) DSLR camera system that employs an Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, which provides full AVCHD video capability. New Sony Alpha concept products being shown include an ultra compact model with interchangeable lenses, additions to the Alpha family (including a successor to the A700), along with new TX5 and H55 Cyber-shot cameras, new printers and other accessories.

Not that long ago, a large number of manufacturers presented their digital camera line on the PMA show floor. It had already been predicted that there would no longer be room for quite so many, and thus only for a handful of manufacturers. This is partially right, however, the offer of compact and DSLR cameras does not seem to have decreased. The compact camera has matured and true innovations are over, while the digital SLR is conquering more and more market share. The Micro Four Thirds system camera manufactured by Panasonic and Olympus, is the new kid on the block. Whether more manufacturers will adopt the Micro Four Thirds system during the PMA International Convention and Trade Show, or whether they will come with their own 'Micro' system like Samsung, remains to be seen.
