Canon adds to its acclaimed L-series with the launch of the new EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM telephoto zoom lens. This new Canon lens launches as the successor to the immensely popular EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, offering improved performance in every area. True to the L-series’ heritage, the Canon EF 70-200mm lens delivers optical excellence in the most challenging situations. As well as a revamp of the internal optical system, the lens has also been structurally re-developed as a direct result of user feedback, making it as robust and reliable as it is optically advanced.
Canon releases its latest L-series EF lens for its new professional SLR, the EOS-1D Mark III. The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens succeeds the versatile EF16-35mm f/2.8L USM lens as a high-performance L-series wide-angle zoom lens, specifically designed for improved peripheral image quality. This new EF series lens will meet the strict requirements of professional and high-end amateur photographers. Compatible with all EOS SLRs past and present, it uses three high-precision aspherical lens elements, each of a different type: ground, replica and GMo for even better image quality than the original EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM.
