Canon PowerShot TX1

Posted by: Ralf Jurrien Thursday 22nd, February 2007

At first glance Canon's new 7.1 megapixel PowerShot TX1 digital camera looks familiar...pocket-sized, stainless steel case with textured accents and enough cutting-edge photo technology to make one wonder how they got all that functionality into that deck of playing cards-sized package. Indeed, this compact camera fits in just as well at a football game or a family function; in a small evening bag for a night on the town, or the pocket of a dress shirt, and is as much at home on a business trip as it is on a hard-earned weekend getaway. AC adapter kit ACK-DC10 Allows powering camera via household AC power, instead of rechargeable NB-4L battery(same AC adapter kit as SD630, SD600, SD450, SD430, etc.)

Canon EOS 40D

Posted by: Dennis Hissink Thursday 22nd, February 2007

A new Canon digital SLR camera is on its way. Of course this is no surprise because there will always be a new DSLR model, however someone informed us that the Canon Hongkong website had the name Canon EOS 40D illustrated which is new for the most of us. As we are not under NDA or have a related agreement with Canon we feel free to speculate too. Rumors are that we may see a new Canon 40D with a 10 Megapixels sensor, but this could also be a 12 Megapixel version. Furthermore the Canon EOS 40D could feature a sophisticated auto focus, a 1.6 crop factor, improved sensitivity quality and the new DIGIC III image processor.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2012 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
