| Steve's DigiCams PMA 2006 Report |
Steve's Digicams will cover the new products announced at this year's PMA show in Orlando. We've already seen Pentax lowering the cost of their *ist DL digital SLR down to $599 and anticipate even more news from Canon and possibly Nikon as they announce lower costs for their entry-level DSLR cameras. Konica Minolta has ceased sales of cameras and photo products and sold technology to Sony who will now service their cameras and sell new DSLRs built by Konica Minolta with the Sony name on them. Most of the new consumer digital cameras were already announced at the CES show in January but the all-important new DSLR cameras will be shown and announced in conjunction with the PMA show. All of the camera companies realize that 2006 will be the "year of the DSLR" and they're all trying to get their piece of this lucrative market. The real winners will be the consumers as these new cameras will be less expensive and more powerful than ever and we look forward to reviewing them all.

| DigIT is Scandinavia's leading website for digital imaging, with a long tradition of comprehensive updates on photo- and camera business developments. For the industry, PMA is an obvious place to be - so also for DigIT. A number of new products were disclosed at the CES Show in Las Vegas last month, but they are still hot stuff and will certainly get attention also at PMA. Yet, suppliers of both hardware and software have announced more news to be published prior to the PMA opening on February 26. Our pre-PMA listing will therefore be continuously updated as these news become official, followed by a live coverage during the show. We are looking forward to seeing you on DigIT.no. |
