Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ1 - Improved noise reduction - Furthermore, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 allows shooting at a manually adjustable sensitivity setting of up to ISO 800 in full resolution, thanks to the greatly improved noise reduction levels which are achieved by the separate detection of both chromatic and luminance noise by the newly developed high performance image processor, the Venus Engine III. This results in a broadening of your photographic horizons as you are now able to take advantage of high shutter speeds which suppress image blur caused by subject movement, such as children and pets, especially indoors.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ1 - High Sensitivity settings - Thanks to this powerful combination of image stabilization technology, both hand-shake and subject movement, the two major causes of image blur, are compensated for. With the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1, thanks to Mega O.I.S. and High Sensitivity settings, you can take clear and sharp shots in a wide variety of situations. The engine, the brain of the Panasonic digital camera, which drives high picture quality and quick response time, is the newly developed image processing LSI, the Venus Engine III. The Venus Engine III inherits the conventional Venus Engine II's quick response times and high quality image output, yet dramatically reduces noise levels even at increased ISO settings. Shooting at up to a manually selectable ISO800 setting, in full resolution, it is possible to enhance your photographic potential by being able to take advantage of high shutter speeds. Furthermore, despite the significantly increased performance capabilities of the camera, the Venus Engine III consumes only 80% of power utilized by the Venus Engine II and is able to achieve a long battery life of 250 pictures (CIPA) on a single charge.

Panasonic Lumix TZ1 - High Angle Function - The Panasonic TZ1 has a high resolution (207K pixels), 2.5" large LCD. The pixel-mixed readout method performed by the CCD automatically increases the brightness level of the live image on the LCD, which greatly facilitates shooting in low light situations. The new High Angle mode makes the display extremely easy to view from low angles, for example, when holding the camera up high to take pictures over a crowd and can be accessed easily and quickly by using the dedicated button. With the help of the Power LCD function, which boosts the backlighting of the LCD by 40%, even shooting in bright outdoors situations is no longer a problem. This high-resolution LCD also allows both a full display of your images in up to 25 thumbnails on a multi-split screen and also the ability to date search an image with the Calendar Display mode.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 - Linear AF System - The Panasonic TZ1 is the first Lumix digital camera model to adopt a Linear AF system and, combined with the high speed AF function which has already been evaluated for its rapid response times in other Panasonic Lumix models, achieves, among high zoom digital cameras, an industry-leading high speed AF response time. In addition to the increased focusing times, the noise of the motor is also reduced and it is now even possible to zoom in while recording motion images. The superior AF capabilities also enable an increased speed in continuous AF, allowing easy and precise focusing even when shooting moving subjects. Together with the Lumix TZ1's overall quick response time and the power of the Venus Engine III, this linear AF system also contributes to the short startup time of 0.95 sec. As a result, stress free photography with never a moment missed.
