Panasonic Lumix TZ1 - 10x optical zoom - The lens part of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 features the world's first integration of a retractable lens system with folded optics technology realized by the inclusion of a prism. It also incorporates three aspherical lenses, the crystallization of Panasonic optics technology, all resulting in an amazingly powerful 10x optical zoom Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens contained within a compact body. The zoom ratio can be extended up to 12.5x in 3-megapixel resolution mode thanks to the Extra Optical Zoom function which gives extra magnification (and minimal image deterioration) by intentionally using the centre part of the CCD. Furthermore, in combination with the 4x digital zoom, a factor of up to 50x can be achieved.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 - Optical Image Stabilizer - Mega O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer), deemed by Panasonic as indispensable for all digital cameras, is featured on the entire Panasonic Lumix range and, having been highly evaluated and appreciated by the users across the world, has now become a standard requirement within the digital imaging arena. It compensates for hand-shake by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to keep the optical axis aligned straight against the CCD, ensuring that the image is always captured sharply. As a result, Mega O.I.S. produces beautiful pictures, free from blur and with no deterioration of image quality, at slower shutter speeds of more than 3 steps compared to other conventional models which do not have O.I.S. You can enjoy shooting subjects at long distance with the powerful zoom, as well as in low-light conditions when shutter speeds tend to slow, without worrying about image blur. It is now surprisingly easy for you to take clear, beautiful telephoto pictures, indoor portraits or illuminated night-time scenes. |
