Olympus E-330 Evolt preview
"The Olympus E-330 is a very interesting digital SLR, interesting; because of its Live LCD view mode and the incorporation of its tilting LCD display and its rich features. Though you might wonder why Olympus introduced the E-330 as a point and shoot digital SRL... Olympus already has a great dSLR to offer; the Olympus E-500. Besides the endless settings the Olympus E-330 has something unique to offer; the innovative Live View feature. It will give the photographer the perfect tool to capture that impossible shot or focus with a greater accuracy than possible with other dSLR cameras. Personally I think the more advanced photographers will immediately recognize the potential of such a feature and therefore qualify the E-330 as a semi-pro dSLR. On the other hand the amateur will get a user-friendly dSLR, entry-level operation but a camera with the potential to gain more experience in digital photography..."

Fujifilm FinePix V10 preview
"The Fujifilm FinePix V10 is one very nicely designed digital camera. Its huge display offers enormous comfort when taking pictures or viewing your captured moments. It is just great to see the colourful images on such a big screen. Although there is almost no space left on the back of the camera for the necessary buttons I find the spot just below the monitor a perfectly chosen place. The resolution of 5.1 Megapixel is less than competitive brands have introduced in their compact designed cameras, but thanks to the high quality Super CCD HR image sensor and the combination of the Real Photo Technology Fujifilm offers a more powerful combination. Improving the image quality instead of simply increasing Megapixels proves to be far more worthwhile, at least in this stage..."

Olympus Mju 700
"Olympus has been quite successful with the launch of its digital version of the Mju camera. Colourful and a fresh interesting design combined with a user-friendly operation are the key elements that make the Olympus Mju 700 different from the mass market. The camera is thin and a true light-weight, but without losing any comfort in handling. The large 2.5 inch LCD display on the Mju 700 is a welcome feature and gives the photographer live view. The 7.1 million pixel resolution will give you enough information to enlarge your favourite moment or crop details to post-process the image. The Olympus Mju 700 is a very nice digital camera that enriches the Mju family with some extra design and life-style..."

Kodak EasyShare P880

Kodak EasyShare P880
The Kodak EasyShare P880 is an interesting digital camera. It is a new concept from Kodak. Packed with all kinds of photographic settings, but priority is given to ease-of-use. Handling the new Kodak P880 is easy. Though I cannot imagine that the P880 is an interesting digital camera for anyone who labels him or herself as semi-pro or pro, it still offers quite a number of the settings you are used to having when working with an advanced camera like a DSLR. The Kodak EasyShare P880 will be of interest to a large group of consumers, especially those who are searching for something that is somewhat more than an entry-level (EasyShare) digital camera, but on condition that you don't have to possess enhanced photographic knowledge. Not the ultimate compact design, but great grip, solid built and a concept with potency..."

Nikon D200
"Well what can I say.? I am enthusiastic... maybe this is not the right word,; I am excited is putting it more clearly and it expresses better the way I feel. Excited because I believe the Nikon D200 is just the right product for all Nikon fans waiting out there. Ok you could argue about the fact that it took Nikon this long to anticipate to the fast changing market, but hey.. it's here now! I am sure that Nikon D100 users, myself included will react positively to this introduction and will upgrade to this new platform where Pro meets Entry-level... bridging the gap! I also see the D200 function as a 2nd body for Professionals using the advantages of the DX standard. The D200 has it all, I believe we are looking at an all-round D-SLR tagged with a very interesting price.."

Konica Minolta Dynax 5D
"At this moment I can only say that I fully welcome this new born baby from Konica Minolta. The Dynax 5D offers a lot of features and provides you with some of the most interesting features in this industry, like the Anti-Shake technology. Built-in features like this in an entry-level digital SLR camera like the Konica Minolta Dynax 5D will anticipate on the ever growing need of fine products that let the beginner fully experience what digital (SLR) photography is about! True, it took Konica Minolta quite some time to fulfill the wishes of their loyal fans, and with a line up like the 7D and 5D cameras we can only conclude that Konica Minolta is now able to offer you an interesting series of digital SLR cameras (and lenses). From what we know now 2005 will be an interesting year for digital SLR fans..."

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30
"Panasonic is getting more popular among camera enthusiasts and when we look at products like the new Panasonic DMC FZ30 we understand why. It is a mere fact that features like the Image Stabilization and a large optical zoom are features that a potential large group of consumers is looking for. Though the ergonomics and control are not directly similar to others, the Panasonic FZ30 digital camera has enough features that will attract new potential Panasonic users or at least make them curious. As soon as we receive a full-production model I will get more into the actual quality and effect of this full featured flagship..."

Ricoh GR Digital

Ricoh GR Digital
"The Ricoh GR Digital is a kind of camera that GR-fans or owners of one of Ricoh's analogue GR series cameras have been waiting for. From a photographer's point of view it is a joy to see that a company like Ricoh takes the effort to develop a digital jewel like the Ricoh GR Digital. A fantastic high quality GR lens, a great versatility as a result of using the converter to create a 21mm lens and the highly attractive optional viewfinder that gives the Ricoh GR Digital a distinctive look and feel. Having had the pleasure of using the GR1 analogue version together with the GR Digital camera I came to the conclusion that this is a successful transformation of going from analogue to digital. The Ricoh GR Digital really is one of a kind... "

Nikon Coolpix S4

Nikon Coolpix S4
"The Nikon Coolpix S4 is a most pleasant camera to work with. The functional tilting lens offers a lot of freedom for capturing images from almost any angle. Personally I regret the Coolpix S4 camera not having more extensive possibilities like shutter priority and aperture priority. My wish probably stands from the memory I have of the 4500 and 996 models. The target group the Nikon S4 is aiming at will welcome this camera as a user-friendly digital camera. A small compact design with 10x optical zoom and a high resolution of 6 Megapixel offer the user high quality, a lot of freedom and what's more important, more user's convenience and easy. The built-in software that takes care of enhancing the composition or correcting the red eyes in-the-camera is especially functional..."

Nikon D50
"The first time I took the Nikon D50 in my hands it immediately felt comfortable and like I would have expected a Nikon body to feel. I mean no plastic feeling, light weight, but not too light, easy access, intelligent software built-in with lots of 'giving difficult out of your hands' features, built-in flash but also possible to use external flash, manual control options to get more out of it when desired, etc. Personally I like the Nikon D50 a lot, it just gives you the right combination for an excellent price. For me as a photographer I really like the idea of getting an entry-level product to your consumer, but it's not a product that is very limited for its task. Nikon gives their consumers a product that will help them understand more about digital photography without having to learn, just play with it. A great combo!"
