FujiFilm FinePix F410 - PMA 2003
FujiFilm FinePix F410 digital camera
Some time ago FujiFilm announces their new 4th generation Super CCD sensors. Of course this announcement was some pretty innovative news, but without the introduction of any camera it would still be just some high-tech news. We all had to wait for the first new Fuji camera that was equipped with the already "famous" 4th generation Super CCD. Today is that day, the new FinePix F410 is the first model that is equipped with the 4th generation 1/2.7" Super CCD HR sensor. This version of the Super CCD HR has 3.13 million effective pixels and an output resolution of 6 million pixels.

The new FinePix F410 has a weight of 185gr (battery excl.) and dimensions of only 85x69.4x27mm, so it is truly an ultra-compact camera. The camera reproduces images with an effective resolution of 3.06 Megapixels and despite the fact of its compact dimensions the F410 has a 3x optical zoom lens. This optical zoom lens is equivalent to 38-114mm range with a 35mm camera. By using the technique of the new Super CCD HR it is possible to create an output resolution of 6 Megapixels, in other words a resolution of 2816x2120 pixels. Besides the high output resolution the FinePix F410 can also record in lower resolution like 2048x1536, 1280x960 and 640x480 pixels. When the photographer is using a 6 Megapixel resolution there will be a maximum of 10 images that can be stored on a 16MB xD-Picture card, a resolution of 3 Megapixel means 26 images.
The Fuji FinePix F410 will be delivered with a 16MB xD-Picture card. Other specifications of this new model are an autofocus system with a minimal focus distance of 60cm to infinity, in macro mode 10 - 80cm, shutterspeed of ¼ - 1/2000 second and a so-called F-button. This last item is a new function in the FinePix family that ensures the creative user to set functions like black and whte and ISO settings to their own hands. De images are stored in JPEG (Exif 2.2) format or with a movie in AVI format. The ISO settings are manual selectable from 200 to 800 ISO. The 800 ISO is only selectable in a maximum resolution of 1 Megapixels.
The FinePix F410 get its energy via the included NP-60 battery and to transfer the data the FinePix F410 will be connected to a computer with a standard USB cable. The FinePix F410 can also be used a webcam for videoconferencing. The Fuji FinePix F410 can be used in combination with an optional dockingstation to transfer the data to a computer in a very user-friendly way.
The Fuji FinePix F410 is using an xD-Picture card to store the images. At this moment the maximum storage capacity available on an xD-Picture card is 256MB.
