Today Casio announces their new member of the Exilim series cameras - EX-S3 - with 3.2 million effective pixels and a large 2.0-inch LCD display into an ultra-small case. The new EX-S3 is the latest addition to the Exilim series of card-sized cameras. The new Exilim camera is equipped with a 3.2 Megapixel CCD for high-resolution and rich detailed images, and the large 2.0-inch LCD display is ideal for composing and viewing the images. Everything comes packed in a thin as stylish design with a lens barrier that protects the lens from impact and dust by opening and closing whenever the camera is turned on and off. The stylish case is made of lightweight magnesium alloy, for a body that weighs just 72g. High-speed startup minimizes the time until the camera is ready to capture an image after being turned on and a very fast 0.01 release time lag records the image as soon as you press the shutter release button. With this specification it means that you are able to capture that special moment whenever those happens at any time.

The new Casio EX-S3 as a stylish designed case with dimensions of only 89.5x57x11.7mm and just a weight of 72g (without battery and card). This camera is the lightest among all 3 Megapixel cameras in the world. The quick response of the EX-S3 ensures users to get those special moments at any time and with the help of the large 2.0-inch LCD display it is very easy to use the camera in all kinds of situations. The other Exilim S2 series had a 1.6-inch display, so the display of the S3 camera helps you viewing the images better without having to magnify them first. A Photo Stand feature lets you view images while the camera is on its cradle. A calendar function shows a full-motion calendar with a thumbnail of the first images recorded on each date. The monitor screen can be used to arrange the images, and a collection of display features help to make image viewing simpler and more fun than ever before. Due to the use of an improved Hyper CCD-Lens integration it was possible to use less space for the various functions. The integration requires 40% less space than the Multi-Chip module are of the 2 Megapixel EX-S2/M2 camera.
The camera is equipped with a 3.2 million effective pixels and a high-resolution 1/1.8-inch progressive CCD. Inside of the camera is a feature called "Best Shot"; this mode provides optimum camera setups in an instant. Simply select the sample scene that is similar to the image you want to record, and the camera's exposure compensation, white balance, and other settings are configures accordingly. There are a total of 15 samples built in, including "Coupling Shot" and "Pre shot". Coupling shot is the same as a multi-exposure mode and Pre shot lets you compose the background you want, it record the background and the next image will be one with the recorded background in it.
Other specifications of the Casio EX-S3 camera are: Triple self-timer, world time and alarm functions, Secure Digital or Multimedia compatible, internal 10MB Flash memory, ExifPrint and PIM II compatible, USB Direct Print, JPEG and AVI format, Movie with audio, f4.2 bright lens, focal range of 7.1mm equivalent to 35mm on a 35mm camera, fixed focus, focus range of 80cm to infinity, exposure compensation of -/+ 2EV with 1/3 EV, 1-1/6400e shutter speed, ISO 80, 160, 320 and 640, selectable flash mode, histogram, USB cradle interface and Lithium Ion battery.
