Sony Ericsson W660

Sony Ericsson announces the W660 - a Walkman phone which places an emphasis on style and feel. With a tactile finish that just begs to be touched, it's a classic-design 3G phone available in two distinctive colours, Record Black and Rose Red. Also introduced is a compact new music accessory, the Snap-on Speakers MPS-75, which let you play the tracks stored on your Walkman phone out loud. "The Sony Ericsson W660 has a finish that stands out among its peers," explains Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. "Although the Sony- Ericsson W660 places the emphasis firmly on design, it is also a full member of our Walkman phone family, able to store several hundred full-length songs.

Sony Alpha DSLR prototypes

At the PMA 2007 trade Show which was held between March 8th and 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Sony exhibited two prototypes of digital SLR camera bodies and interchangeable lenses currently under development. These products are planned to be launched in addition to the existing portfolio of the ‘α100’ camera body and the 21 interchangeable lenses including Carl Zeiss lenses and more than 45 pieces of accessories. “We need to further solidify our position in the digital SLR market. To do that, we must cater to varying degrees of customer requirements, and we are working on the second wave of products in order to expand the world of ‘α’,” said Toru Katsumoto, head of Sony’s AMC division.

Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG65 digital camera

Sanyo Japan introduces the new Sanyo Xacti CG65 digital compact camera. This new model will be available in April 2007 and features a 6 Megapixel image sensor and 5x optical zoom. The new Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG65 camera features a newly developed high-precision LSI (large-scale integration) engine III for image processing. This powerful high-definition engine executes a vast number of calculations in a short period of time. It enables the Sanyo Xacti CG65 digital camera to realize image processing functions such as real-time MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression and noise reduction. In addition, the sound quality is excellent with stereo sound of 48kHz sampling in 16 bit compressed with AAC system.

Casio Exilim EX-Z65

Casio announced the introduction of the Exilim Zoom EX-Z65, a new addition to its stylish series of Exilim digital cameras. This latest member of the Exilim family features a newly developed wide LCD display for improved image viewing, ease of use, and delivers effective 6.2 megapixels. The Casio Exilim Z65 model follows Casio’s release last year of the 6.0 megapixel EX-Z60, a camera that featured the slim looks, quick shooting style, and large LCD display of an Exilim while also making both camera setup and shooting simpler than ever. The Casio EX-Z65 retains all the advanced functions of the EX-Z70, including Anti-Shake DSP for reducing photo blur due to shaky hands or moving subjects.

HP DreamColor technology

HP announced the industry’s first highly integrated system that delivers the greatest level of digital color consistency across a series of devices. A company-wide initiative, HP DreamColor Technologies builds on HP’s more than 20 years of experience in color imaging to provide customers the assurance of producing accurate, predictable and consistent color from device to device. The system, announced at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show, will first be made available to the graphic-intensive creative community and professional photography market through select HP printers. Over time, it will be implemented across a broader range of markets and HP product categories.

PMA 2009 - The digital SLR camera market is booming. Compared to last year the DSLR camera sales increased with impressive numbers and it seems the digital SLR camera has become a mass consumer product. New entry level D-SLR cameras with 6 Megapixels surprisingly were welcomed very well by the amateur photographer and it seems that within this segment of the digital camera market the resolution range of 6 - 10 Megapixel fulfils the need of the amateur photographer. Without lenses the digital SLR camera would not be complete and it is for that reason we see a huge number of digital SLR lens introductions appear this year. There are multiple camera manufacturers offering their best own brand solution for its DSLR camera, but there are even more specialized lens manufacturers who offer an impressive number of lens solutions too.
