PMA 2010 Report
PMA 2010 News - This information is based on unofficial info. According to a source who is to so to speak ‘active in the imaging industry’, and backed up with a product image scoop from the photorumors site we inform you about an upcoming Pentax megazoom camera. At the PMA 2010 the new Pentax X90 will be showcased. The Pentax X90 camera will feature an upgraded 26x optical zoom lens with wide angle to super telephoto range. Its predecessor, the Pentax X70, featured a 24x coverage. The Pentax X90 is a typical megazoom camera, SLR-like styling and flexible in its functions and settings. You may speak of a bridge between a compact and a DSLR camera, although the Micro Four Thirds cameras are on its way to fill that gap.
Pentax X90 megazoom camera
The Pentax X90 digital megazoom camera will offer photographers the user friendliness of a compact camera and powerful features of the traditional DSLR. Manual settings like aperture/shutter priority and metered manual modes, sensor-movement Shake Reduction and a high quality Pentax zoom lens. The Pentax X90 is a typical all-round camera that performs well in situations like shooting landscapes, portraits or day-to-day snapshots.
Pentax X90 equipped with 26x wide-angle lens
We are not completely certain of the true range that covers the 26x optical zoom lens but we believe that the Pentax X90 features a wide-angle 26mm to a super telephoto 624mm (in the 35mm format). And if the X90 hosts the same feature like the Pentax X70 the camera’s zoom will be able to increase its zoom by combining it with an Intelligent Zoom function.
Pentax X90 features Shake Reduction system
The compact design of the Pentax X90 doesn’t decrease its functionality. The Pentax X90 digital camera offers a full range of automatic and manual features and functions. The Pentax X90 incorporates a Shake Reduction system we also saw with the X70 model. Shake Reduction enables the image sensor to shift to assure sharply focused, blur-free images. Very comfortable when you shoot in conditions such as indoor scenes with very low light or shooting at full telephoto.
