PMA 2010 Report
We've managed to get hold of the first full production Olympus E-620 DSLR camera, and we have made several sample pictures on the famous Strip in Las Vegas. The Olympus E-620 is currently the world's smallest and most light-weight DSLR with built-in image stabilization. However; it's not only the weight that makes the E620 stand out from the crowd. The camera uses techniques of the semi-professional Olympus E-30, lifting the bar for quality again. In addition to the Live MOS sensor with 12.3 Megapixels, the Olympus E620 features a handy vari-angle LCD display that can be folded in and out, which is ideal when you want to take pictures from an awkward angle. Live View provides the extra ease.

Since we're in the middle of PMA reporting, we did not have that much time to capture pictures with the Olympus E-620. We went out in the evening to shoot some slow shutter speed pictures. These sample pictures are taken prior to the full camera review that will be published in a couple of weeks. With the Olympus E-620 you will have creative filters at your disposal, which are directly copied from the E-30, and will certainly appeal to the enthusiast photographer in particular. The small size of the Olympus DSLR is what the FourThirds system stands for.

In addition to a precise AF system, the Olympus E-620 features a high speed Live MOS sensor with 12.3 Megapixels and an exceptionally advanced TruePic III + image processor. This means that it allows for shooting with a frame speed of 4 fps. If users don't like to use the LCD for framing, they can use the viewfinder. The latter provides an enlargement of 0.96x and a coverage of 95%.

The Olympus E-620 sample photos were taken in Vegas with a full production SLR camera which means that this camera is equal to the model that the consumer can expect to purchase. Our DIWA camera test lab has already tested the Olympus E-620 camera under laboratory circumstances from a technical viewpoint. The next few weeks we will test the Olympus E-620 practice and come up with a review soon. The Olympus E-620 sample photos are taken in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
