Nikon Europe is proud to announce the new Nikon Coolpix L100 digital camera. Easy Auto Mode simplifies photography by taking control of settings; just turn on the L100 camera and shoot freely. Activated in Easy Auto Mode, Nikon’s Scene Auto Selector eliminates the need to manually select a scene mode to match the shot, and this makes it faster and easier to capture the moment in beautiful fashion. The Nikon Coolpix L100 uses this intelligent function to analyze the subject and its surrounding settings and automatically selects the most appropriate of the following six scene modes to achieve optimal results - Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Night Landscape, Close-up, or Backlight.

Nikon Coolpix L100 - Smart Portrait System
Automatically detecting as many as 12 faces in the shot, Face-priority AF helps produce satisfying portraits by adjusting focus and exposure. The Smile Mode on the Nikon L100 helps to faithfully record precious moments by automatically releasing the shutter when the subject smiles. Blink Warning alerts the photographer when it suspects that a subject has blinked. The Nikon Coolpix L100 now features faster processing speed, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically corrects any perceived red-eye effect before saving the image to memory.

Nikon L100 - VR image stabilization
Nikon’s image sensor shift VR image stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake. The Motion Detection function on the Nikon Coolpix L100 automatically controls shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for subject movement as well as camera shake. The Nikon L100 offers ISO 3200 capability allowing for faster shutter speeds when shooting in low light or capturing fast-moving subjects. And, Nikon’s original BSS (Best Shot Selector) function automatically shoots a series of sequential frames and saves the one with the sharpest focus.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2012 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
