The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a compact camera finally looking like a true Nikon camera again. Not like a Casio look-a-like or an ultra-stylish colorful compact camera but a solidly built camera body featuring many setting possibilities that will certainly appeal to the creative photographer. As for its functions, the Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a compact camera belonging to the entry-level assortment of Nikon's DSLR cameras. The Nikon P6000 features photography functions as well as a genuine GPS module and LAN support. In short, the camera is able to distinguish itself from the masses for its specifications alone.

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 digital camera has a large number of Megapixels; 13.5 million effective pixels to be precise. This may be a nice marketing feature but they are not what the photographer deeply wishes for. There's a choice of four exposure modes on the Nikon Coolpix P6000 (P/S/A/M) that allow you to customize the digital camera to your preference. The Nikon Coolpix camera supports RAW format as well as a hot shoe to mount a Nikon Speedlight flash unit. This makes the Nikon Coolpix P6000 very interesting as an extra camera for any photographer.

Furthermore the Nikon Coolpix P6000 camera features three great functions to reduce image blur. High-performance Lens-shift Vibration Reduction (VR) allows sharp pictures with minimal blur. Its superior noise-reduction technology allows a sensitivity range up to ISO 6400. Nikonís Best Shot Selector allows the camera to take a maximum of 10 sequential shots and automatically saves the sharpest image. This is ideal for macro close-up shooting when camera shake is most likely.

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 test photos were taken with a full production camera which means that this digital camera is equal to the model that the consumer can expect to purchase. Our DIWA test lab has already fully tested the Nikon P6000 camera under laboratory circumstances from a technical viewpoint. The next few days we will test the Coolpix P6000 in practice and come up with a review soon. The Nikon Coolpix P6000 test photos are taken in Amsterdam, Central Station in The Netherlands. The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2012 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
