Each year, Kata continues to enhance its Global Digital Collection (GDC), offering professionals new and improved solutions for protecting and transporting their gear. With groundbreaking designs and a unique protective technology, the GDC line is in a league of its own and has set a new standard for protective carrying solutions among the competition. At PMA 2007, Kata will unveil three new GDC organizer / lighting cases, the OC-86, OC-88 and the OC-97, each of which can be customized to hold a variety of equipment, including cameras, accessories, lighting equipment or stands. The new OC-86, OC-88 and OC-97 are the ideal solutions for keeping today’s hard working professional organized and mobile.

Kata GDC line
From their ergonomic design to the vibrant, scratch and static resistant ‘yelloop’ internal fabric, the GDC line stands out from their less ardent crowd of competitors and has redefined the market of protective carrying solutions. Like all Kata products, the GDC line is about much more than just an attractive and aesthetically pleasing design. These products are above-all a protective solution, enhanced by Kata’s unique Thermo Shield Technology (TST). TST is a state-of-the-art design that provides ultimate protection in an extremely lightweight package. The outer shell of the TST is thermo formed in a protective “rib shape” construction, and made from a Mil-Std, double cord Super Nylon to protect expensive gear from water, dust and a host of other potentially damaging elements. Beneath that is a cross linked, closed cell PE + EVA shield that shelters sensitive equipment from shock and impact, while also insulating it from extreme temperatures and moisture.

Each case features TST protection on the front and honeycomb reinforcement around the edge, providing substantial protection for the equipment inside. The compartments in each model can be altered to fit individual needs by using included Modi-Vers dividers that allow users to create a custom fit to meet their exact requirements. Each case is equipped with fortified, padded handles, a BSS shoulder strap designed for carrying flexibility and is compatible with Kata’s Insertrolley system (included), providing added mobility for the traveling professional. The OC-86, OC-88 and OC-97 also include internal and external pockets that are ideal for accessory storage.

With a tall main compartment that measures 29.9” x 11.1” x 8.6” and features a full length divider, the OC-88 is the ideal case for small and medium lighting kits. For large lighting kits, the OC 97 provides ample room, featuring a long and deep divided compartment measuring 34.6” x 12.5” x 9.4”.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2012 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
