Manfrotto’s 808RC4 is the ideal head for photographers who pack on the pounds when it comes to photo gear, the 808RC4 is a heavy-duty three-way head that can support payloads over 17 pounds. A unique combination of features and an innovative design commonly found in professional video heads adds to the 808RC4’s appeal and will surely guarantee it a spot on photographers’ wish lists worldwide. The 808RC4 will be featured at PMA in Las Vegas. Perhaps the most unique feature of 808RC4 is its Double Axis Spring System. An innovative solution borrowed from the video industry, the Double Axis Spring System consists of a built-in 3.30 pound spring for both the front tilt and side tilt movements.

The innovative spring system helps the shooter move the camera smoothly while framing the picture as it counter balances some of the camera weight. Additionally, the spring system helps absorb the unfortunate shock that results when camera bodies and lenses reach the end-stop of the head movement. When not needed, the springs can each be disengaged separately, depending on each photographer’s individual shooting preference. In addition to improved ergonomics, such as an updated and lightweight design (3.02 lbs.) that features modernized, rounded edges and new handles specifically designed for comfort and ease-of-use, the 808RC4 also incorporates Manfrotto’s quick release camera plate system for easy on and off applications.
