PMA 2008 Report

Manfrotto’s award-winning 560B fluid monopod revolutionized the landscape of support solutions for the photo and video industries. Highly praised by professional and amateurs alike for its stable, fluid design, the 560B provides smooth panning and image capture in any environment. Improving on the popular 560B, Manfrotto is proud to launch its bigger sibling, the 561B. The 561B is higher, sturdier and more robust, making it ideal for Mini DV, HDV and photo applications; however, it boasts many of the same features as the 560B, including a fluid cartridge and three pivoting, retractable feet for the ultimate in jump free panning. Both the 560B and 561B will be on display at PMA 2007.

Sold as a kit, the 561B comes included with a modified 701RC2 video head, offering shooters smooth, fluid tilts of +/- 90 degrees. All panning action is controlled by the fluid cartridge at the base of the monopod. With the modified 701RC2 head in place, the 561B weighs approximately 4.38 pounds and is able to support a maximum payload of 8.8 pounds - twice that of its smaller sibling. With over 48” of support, ranging from a minimum height of 30.71” to a maximum height of 79.53”, shooters can rest assured that with the 561B, they’ll have the support they need no matter what environment they happen to be in. The 561B will be available in March 2007 with an estimated street price of $222.00.
