PMA 2009 Report

According to our friends at Engadget Sony is going to launch two new digital camera models; the Sony Cybershot S650 and the Sony Cybershot DSC-S700. At this moment the information is not official, but the image Engadget has published with their article is said to be one of the new Sony Cybershot digital cameras. The timing is not strange. Although XMas is just around the corner, there is a big event coming up; the 2007 International CES. There is a chance Sony will launch just before or during the CES 2007 show. The information listed at Engadget shows us that the Sony S650 and Cybershot S700 both are 7 Megapixel cameras with AA format batteries and rather small LCD displays of 2.0 and 2.4-inch format.

Sony Cybershot S650 - Features
Like we said before the information is based on a rumour and unofficial. The new Sony S650 camera features a 2.0-inch LCD monitor and incorporates a 7 Megapixel image CCD sensor. The Cybershot S-series are entry-level models and it would not surprise us when the Sony S700 and Cybershot S650 cameras follow the same trend. We guess the CES 2007 show which takes place in Las Vegas on 8 - 11 January 2007, could be the first event where Sony is able to display both models to the public.

The first CES took place in New York City in June of 1967 with 200 exhibitors and 17,500 attendees. Since then, CES has grown more than eleven-fold. Nearly 2,700 exhibitors, filling 1.6 million net square feet of exhibit space, showcased their latest products and services to more than 140,000 attendees at the 2006 International CES. Today the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology and America's largest annual tradeshow of any kind. The International CES is the industry's largest educational forum to help companies expand their businesses and understand new technology. Approximately 200 conferences and more than 600 expert speakers encompass International CES conferences, Industry Insiders and SuperSessions to discuss hot industry trends and topics. The International CES features products, and the companies that create them, from many different consumer technology markets. The show floor is organized by color-coded zones, allowing attendees to easily find each exhibitor as they navigate through more than 1.7 million net square feet of exhibit space.
