The Olympus FE-240 delivers extraordinary magnification power in a surprisingly compact form. Its 5x zoom lens enables users to close in dramatically on any type of action from afar. Yet despite incorporating this high-performance attribute, the metal body - which is available in the choice of silver or black - still easily fits into virtually any pocket. This 7.1 Megapixel FE model boasts exceedingly easy operation and features a large 6.4cm LCD. The Olympus FE-240 has a decided advantage - a 5x zoom lens (equiv. to 38-190mm on a 35mm camera) in an incredibly slim metal body, matched with a resolution of 7.1 Megapixels. It is therefore perfect for those who want to enjoy power and quality.

Like all FE series cameras, this model stresses the ease of use factor through the “one button, one function” design principle. In addition, 15 scene modes even allow beginners to achieve great results. Main functions are conveniently controlled via a mode dial that lets users choose between the eight different programmes, including a High ISO Setting mode with ISO 1000 and movie shooting. Furthermore, a total of 25 languages on board means the Olympus FE-240 digital camera will feel right at home in any corner of Europe. An xD-Picture Card slot, in addition to the internal memory, makes for shooting fun without limits. Finally, the included Olympus Master software makes editing and archiving pictures on the computer a cinch. The intense-zooming FE-240 will hit stores in February 2007.

Controlling the camera becomes child’s play. All essential functions like shooting, playback and viewing on the LCD, as well as erasing, are easily activated via a single button. A special shooting mode, where the camera automatically increases ISO sensitivity to allow shorter shutter speeds - which helps to avoid image blur caused by camera shake or by fast-moving objects. Developed by Olympus, the TruePic Turbo image processor automatically enhances important aspects of image quality: colour reproduction (colour range, saturation and brightness), picture sharpness, as well as processing speed.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2012 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
