PMA 2008 Report
From Amsterdam to Paris is just a couple of hours away, but the new Lumix line-up I was introduced to during the Panasonic Global Press conference in Paris, was another milestone for the Panasonic camera division. An impressive number of ten digital camera's were unveiled and one of them, the Panasonic TZ3, I took with me to Versailles to test it in the field. I have to remind you that the images of the Panasonic Lumix TZ3 are still a pre-production level, not final level! The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is a wonderful little camera with a great optical zoom lens; 28 - 280mm. Finally a manufacturer who listened to its customers who were demanding a wide angle lens, applaud!

The impressive and very convenient size of the 7.2 Megapixel DMC-TZ3 belies the wealth of technological features. Incorporating a powerful 10x optical zoom in such a slim and stylish body is impressive in itself. Add to this the incorporation of Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S that prevents blurring from shaky hands, Intelligent ISO to prevent motion blur, and the high quality, high performance image-processing Venus Engine III to name but a few, and the calibre of these new additions becomes apparent.

Right after the Panasonic press meeting I went to Versailles where I had the change to test the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 in the field. The conditions were not perfect; cloudy weather, and inside the building low-light, but with the features that the Panasonic TZ3 is offering I did had no problem shooting the things I wanted too. The new camera is very convenient to carry with you and lies very steady in your hand. The wide angle zoom lens is perfect for today's subject with lots of inside-photography and out-side as well. Although the status of the camera is pre-production model I already believe that this camera will become one of the top models for this first half year.
